We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties. We share data only in the following restricted scenarios:

  • Service Providers: We share data with verified third-party vendors who provide operational assistance: cloud hosting (AWS/Google Cloud), Content Delivery Networks (CDN) for video streams, customer support ticket engines, and email marketing systems. They are bound by strict privacy rules and are forbidden from using data for other purposes.
  • Churches & Content Owners: We may share aggregated, anonymous, and de-identified viewership data (e.g., total plays, geographic region percentages) with partnering ministries and filmmakers to help them track sermon or film performance. Individual user profiles are never disclosed.
  • Compliance with Law: We may disclose information if required to do so by a South African court, government regulatory agency (such as the Information Regulator), or by law enforcement to protect safety and investigate fraud or copyright infringement.
  • Business Transfer: In connection with or during negotiations of a merger, acquisition, joint venture, or sale of assets of Global Eagle (Pty) Ltd.

6. Security of Your Data

We implement administrative, technical, and physical security measures designed to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, loss, alteration, or theft.

  • All web traffic and stream connections are encrypted in transit using industry-standard Secure Socket Layer/Transport Layer Security (SSL/TLS).
  • User account passwords are encrypted and stored using secure hashing algorithms (bcrypt/argon2). We never store raw, readable passwords.
  • Access to user data within our staff is strictly restricted on a “least-privilege” basis to individuals who require access to run support and optimize platforms.

Please note that no system is completely immune to security threats. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and avoiding sharing password details with anyone.

7. Data Retention

We store your personal information only for as long as necessary to achieve the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy:

  • Active viewer account details are retained until you request account deletion.
  • Viewing history is stored to optimize recommendations and may be anonymized/aggregated after a specific window for statistical analysis.
  • Filmmaker application records, church contracts, and submission logs are kept for longer periods to comply with South African corporate tax and licensing obligations.

8. Your Legal Rights (POPIA & GDPR)
